After a successful trail run in 2019, Drag Day has became an official event in 2021 at Ponies In The Smokies presented by National Parts Depot! On Thursday, the Ponies will depart from Smokies Stadium at 10:30 for a nice, scenic 30 mile cruise(directions will be posted closer to the day of the cruise and provided at the Stadium) along the shores of and over Lake Douglas to Newport, Tennessee’s English Mountain Raceway. For those looking for a quicker, more straight route, Interstate 40 is also an option.

The drag strip will be open from 11am to 4pm for test and tune. The cost to participate is 20 dollars or 8 dollars to spectate. This is a low-key, no pressure event, perfect for first timers! You do not have to be John Force to go enjoy yourself and stretch your Ponies legs down the 1/8th mile! To sweeten the deal, an official English Mountain Time slip attached to your judging card on Friday is good for 5 extra points in the car show! No excuses not to run!
