The Shine Run is easily the favorite event each year at Ponies In The Smokies presented by National Parts Depot. The Shine Run is a two day modified “poker run” that takes participants to various local favorite stops and on some of the best roads Tennessee has to offer. Participants take part in a basic game of five card poker, drawing one or two cards at each stop in hopes of putting together the winning poker hand and taking home one of the top prizes. So far this year the top prizes include a set of Axe Wheels, a weeks stay at Table Rock Resort, some cool autographed memorabilia by “The King” Richard Petty, a ton of cool stuff from Steeda and of course the normal truck load of cool prizes from our presenting sponsor, National Parts Depot. But that’s not all, we keep adding prizes to the table daily! Along with their choice of prize, the winner will take home the trophy for “The Fastest Bootlegger in Sevier County”. And do not forget about the awesome Shine Run participant only goodie bags by the presenting Shine Run sponsor, Clearshine!

Steve and his wife Jodi have some the coolest furniture in the area, all custom built from things like old barns, factories and homesteads.

The Tail Of The Dragon. Need we say more? People drive from all over just to drive the Dragon. Easily the highlight of The Shine Run and the perfect place to test those Ponies in the curves!

We are excited to finally incorporate not only a stop in Cherokee, North Carolina but also give you a chance to drive across The Great Smoky Mountains National Parkway. The Museum of the Cherokee Indian has came on board as a new stop for 2020 and should provide not only some great driving, but it will also give participants a great piece of local history. While your in Cherokee, be sure and make your way downtown to all the shops and local attractions! Maybe even try your luck over at the Casino!
Stay tuned to our website and social media for some recommended driving maps coming soon to make the most of your Shine Run, whether you choose to do it in one day or spread it out over two, we have just the route for you!
We are also excited to announce that Aaron and the gang from Clearshine will be back once again helping us with Shine Run registration as well as sponsoring the Shine Run party. Aaron and his company have been a great edition to the Shine Run over the past few years and a great help with both registration and collecting the cards on Thursday night. They are also responsible for the pretty awesome Shine Run participant only goodie bags! Look for their booth on Thursday at Junction 35 to turn your cards in! Be sure and stop by the convention center Friday and Saturday and say hey as well!
