Where To Eat

The PITS Crew has made dozens of trips to The Smokies over the years providing several opportunities to sample many restaurants and untold beers. We thought it might be helpful to provide a culinary “cheat sheet” to let our friends in on some of our favorites!

Quaker Steak & Lube and Roma Table – We can’t say enough about The Collier Family of restaurants and the management team at QS&L and Roma Table as they have supported PITS since our planning stages in 2016! From allowing a graffiti artist from Asheville for the under the bridge backdrop, to a local artist and friend Steve Spangler creating and maintaining the famous PITS Wall, to being the host location for our “Light The Still” cruise in that kicks off PITS each year and now hosting Chris Cervenka’s “Coffee and Camshafts” later in the week. Add in the countless impromptu nightly cruise ins, the parking lot provides the atmosphere and the restaurants make the belly’s full with plenty of comfort food to keep our guests fueled for PITS or when passing through town.

Junction 35 Spirits – Distillery, Kitchen & Bar – Another favorite and long time supporter of the show is affectionately known as “J35” by The PITS Crew. The host location of Thursday’s Shine Run Party for many years, J35 is located in a recently developed retail and entertainment complex along Teaster Lane dubbed “The Mountain Mile” which blends legacy retail space with a brand new take on a traditional strip mall. A variety of retail, food and thrill rides provides fun and a great atmosphere for the whole family. We stop in for lunch/dinner when in town for the show or business and we happened to be saddled up at the J35 bar back in 2020 when Steve McQueen’s Bullitt Mustang went across the Mecum blocks with a hammer price of $3.4 million. Talk about coincidental timing!
