The Shine Run takes participants on a “modified poker run” to a select number of waypoint destinations across the region that provides a fun experience with amazing drives. Participants take their Shine Run card to the various stops for blind draws to complete their 5-card poker hand. Stops further out are sometimes a 2-card draw. You can complete the bare minimum of stops to complete your 5-card hand or visit all the stops to increase your odds of creating the best hand possible. Once your Shine Run card has a complete hand, your card is turned in on Thursday night at the Shine Run Party. The hands are scored and ordered by rank, then prizes are given out during Saturday’s awards ceremony starting with the best hand and going down from there. The top hand receives a jug for “The Fastest Bootlegger In Sevier County” as well as their choice of any prize on the Shine Run table at the awards ceremony. The grand prize is $1000 dollars in cash.
