Ponies In The Smokies is more than just a 2-day car show on Friday and Saturday as the original formula includes daily driving events throughout the week which allows owners to get their hot rods out and stretch their legs. The #PITS Driving Experience includes activities such as a BFGoodrich Driving School, Autocross, Speedway Fun Runs, Drifting, Burnout Competition and Drag Racing. From closed course action to open road adventure on the legendary Tail Of The Dragon there is plenty of driving to be had during the week of PITS.

Autocross, Fun Runs and Driving School: Newport Speedway, in Newport, TN, plays host on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to these activities which are all managed by Gateway Mustang. The team at Gateway Mustang does an amazing job of setting up the courses, instructing the classes and making sure everyone learns how to safely take their Ponies to the limit. The BFGoodrich Driving School is on Monday, Autocross is on Tuesday, Fun Runs, along with several other activities are on Wednesday.

Drifting: Drifting exhibitions and ride-a-longs are hosted by East10Drift, Morgan Drifts and several other professional and semi-pro drifters. The rev limiters, tire smoke and “slideways” action are always a fan favorite and attendees are invited to strap in and ride shotgun for the thrill of a lifetime.

Drag Racing: The final driving event of the week comes on Thursday with Drag Racing hosting at Knoxville Dragway in Maynardville, TN. This event is casual enough for the first timer, but serious enough for the professional weekend warrior. Take your shot at the #PITS List and get bragging rights for being one of the 10 fastest cars on the property. But there’s more! Cash prizes are at stake for the Fastest Ford and Fastest non-Ford. That’s right, bring them all out as everyone is welcome!
